Winching 2011

The water is on the rise! Today I heard that the Crow River is three feet from it's all time high mark. The Mississippi is about to swallow harriet island as well as most of the apartments along the water near St. Paul. The Minnesota River is is about to break the shores in Montevideo and Fargo is expected to get crushed, once again. (what's new there?). I had some free time to drive around I didn't find much and I know there is way more stuff out there but I am really stoked on one of the spots. This winter is hanging on much longer than last. By this time last year I had already taken a boat set...so as you can imagine I am very anxious to get out. I am always down to winch with who ever whenever, we need to band together up here because there is not many of us that are willing to hop into this cold water. Let me know if you have spots or ideas and we can get out...as soon as the freaking ice melts!!!

This first spot is one that I fond last year, and am still really stoked about it. This rail is long, and would make for a very sick still and awesome video shot if you could slide a big chunk of it. Obviously as you can tell, there is still ice here and this will probably be underwater soon, BUT as soon as it reappears, shred on! You would most likely need a ski for this one but a winch would work as well.

This spot is not really feasible, just thought it was sweet. Maybe if the water was lower the rail was a little longer, you fashioned your self a pool for the run-in and you had a ski to pull you this spot could work...?

This is Harriet Island Park, it is closed for the flooding but there is rails and ledges everywhere..

Slide some park benches anyone?

The water is getting high!

Blogging about my other blog.

Ok. For those that care, here is the deal. I created another blog that is very similar to my first blog but completely different. It is more of a visual resume, if you will. I will not be updating it as much as I do this one and will only put stuff that pertains to me getting X! Don't worry I will let you know when I post something new on there but for now I am just trying to get older photos and video on there since I am not doing that much riding at the time being.

Thanks, and feel free to check it out there is some sweet photography and video on there!!

It is going off in Duluth!

Got out of class and decided to venture down to the lake to see how big the waves actually were. Here are some pictures I managed to snap before I almost blew away. Really makes me wish I had my surf board and a 5/3 wet suit!

Photography Predicament..

I have my first critique for my Photo 5 class tomorrow morning and I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs. I have to create a book for the semester and my concept was going to be the time I took pictures of this abandon building and create a narrative of my discovery my journey through the building and the things I saw along the way. My professor said I needed to take photos for this semester and not just use photos from a past shoot. Well, figured out this weekend that I cannot regain entrance into this building despite my best efforts. So, I need to either come up with a new concept or forcefully break into this building and potentially get into a lot of trouble. So if you have any ideas at all on a potential concept for a photo-book you should hit me up on facebook or email me and share!!!

I would be really stoked to hear any ideas. I think for now I am going to prepare some of the photos I took last year and explain the situation to my prof and other students in the class. Maybe they have some ideas.

Little preview of the building that isn't too incriminating..
